Diablo 3 Barbarian gameplay tips for faster leveling
Barbarian’s primary resource is Fury. You start with 0 Fury, but as you use your Fury generator skills your Fury meter increases and you get to use Fury spender skills. These typically deal heavy damage and thus the no.1 tip is to learn how and when to use these skills.
I can’t give you a much detailed walk-through this tip as it comes with experience. Always know that there will be mobs waiting for you where you will need your heavy damage area-fury spender skills. Keep some Fury in reserve for times when you will really need to chain skills. Don’t waste Fury on monsters that can be killed with basic attack skills and use them on ones that are difficult to kill.
Before you use skills like Threatening shout, make sure you position yourself well which will affect more monsters giving you a chance to kill several monsters in very short duration of time. This gives you bonus killing streak EXP.
As a Barbarian you can mob very easily and come out of a battle alive even after taking damage from dozens of monsters. Leverage this to your advantage and get to your enemies before they get to you.
Put your defenses or defensive skills on when charging into a mob. Make sure you are full on health and you have health potions in your inventory. Use mob skills to kill faster and more effectively.
Diablo 3 Barbarian builds and rotations for power leveling
Note that I do not consider Runes in this guide yet. I’ll write a more detailed update over time.
Leveling tips for level 1-5
This goes very fast. You get very few skills – Bash, Hammer of the Ancients and Battle Rage. You will not need defensive skills at early levels.
Since you only get 2 skill slots, Bash and Hammer of Ancients are your best options at these levels.
The other skills you earn at these levels aren’t really needed as you will only need ones with area or high single target damage.
Leveling tips for Level 6-10
You earn a new skill slot and Leap Attack at level 6. This comes very handy as you can jump all over the place for some quick kills. Note how you can use Leap Attack to jump through obstacles or at places that are on an entirely differently ground level.
Weapon Throw that you learn at level 7 is a good one to replace Hammer of the Ancients. Ground Stomp is also good to initiate a mob fight but it has high cool down. Rend that you learn at level 9 is a little slow when it comes to killing mobs. So just stick to skills like Bash, Hammer of the Ancient and Hammer Throw. You will also find Threatening Shout coming handy after level 7.
Leveling tips for level 11-15
You earn some really good skills in this range and also your first passive slot. Stick with passive skill Rutheless all the way. Keep an eye on your health and fury orbs when killing mobs. Take Frenzy for the additional skill set you earn as it’s very good for power leveling.
Note, that you can keep fury and frenzy up out of battle by smashing barrels and other obstacles.
Yes..very good tip. But I feel that kind of slows you down I feel if you go around smashing barrels all over the place.
