Here’s a good Diablo 3 Barbarian Tank Build that would help you survive in tough situations and never die. Unless you mess things up. I have tested it several times with changes here and there and it seems to work well for me in PVM.
As usual I do not claim that this is the best build. It’s eventually always a matter of preference or play style. I have used this build and found it to be the best one that suits my style of play. If you are new and looking for something just to get started with then I recommend that you try it out.

Diablo 3 Barbarian Tank Build active skills
- Cleave: 260% damage to targeted enemy and 130% to others that get hit by your arc.
- Revenge: 150% damage to all enemies within 8 yards. Also gain 5% health per hit with 31% chance.
- Leap Attack: Leap into the air and deal 40% damage. Additionally gain 700% armor for 4 seconds.
- Threatening Shout: Reduce enemy damage by 50% within 25 yards and additionally taunt for 9 seconds with the rune.
- Ignore Pain: Reduces all damage by 65% for 13 seconds. Has a cool down of 60 seconds.
- War Cry: Increases armor by 100% for you and all your allies, and gain additional increase in resistance by 80%

Diablo 3 Barbarian Tank Build Description
- DPS: Cleave combined with Crimson rune stone is very good DPS for single or AOE damage. Additionally Revenge with its 31% chance will allow you to spam this skill making this a very good AOE skill since you will be taunting everything within 25 yards for 9 seconds.
- Armor: You will always have +200% armor, 100 from War Cry and 100 from Tough as Nail. Leap attack can be used every 10 seconds to initiate the battle out of which 40% of your time you will have 900% bonus armor from War Cry, Tough As Nail and Leap Attack.
- Resist: Impunity will add +80% resist while on War Cry. Superstition will also add add 20% resist from non-physical damage. Over all I think this combo will give a nice resist sufficient enough to survive in tough situations, especially considering the fire damage you will be taking at times.
- Heal: Healing yourself will be extremely important as you will take a lot of damage with Taunt. That’s where Revenge is becomes essential as it will heal 5% for every hit you land on enemy. Blood Thirst will give additional 10% life steal.
- Reduce Damage: It’s so important to be able to reduce the damage of the enemy when you taunt all of them to you. Easy, same skill will make you taunt everyone within 25yard and make them do only the half of the damage for 15sec!
- Ignore Pain will help make sure that you do not die easily. Say for example, somebody hits you 100 damage. Ignore pain (-65%) combined with Threatening Shout (-50%) will reduce the enemy damage to merely 17.5.
- Your time: For every 60 seconds you will have 13 seconds where you will be practically invincible and very hard time kill. Just one Revenge or one hit by your weapon will put your health back on 100%.
- Utility: Leap Attack will help you to initiate a fight as well as escape one on time without getting killed. Taunt enemies to attack you and you will be able to clear the mobs very easily. Additionally your allies would be very pleased 100% bonus armor.
- Weakness: No HP bonus since this build relies on mainly on regeneration and ensuring that your life is always on max.
Tips to play this Barbarian Tank Build
- Cleave: Use left mouse button for this to auto attack.
- Revenge : Q, you will be spamming this a lot.
- Leap Attack: W, point your target and press W.
- Treatening Shout: E
- Ignore Pain: R
- War Cry: Right Mouse button
- Potions: D
- In short, you W, E, and finally spam Q and auto attack. Remember to charge when you have all your skills ready.
