Check out our guide on Diablo 3 classes to learn more about each and every class and access detailed guide for each class.
Diablo 3 Beginners Health and Resource Guide

Life Orb: The Red orb is the life orb. You die when it goes empty. Carry health potions to replenish when low. Certain skills help you life steal and some cause you to loose life.
Unlike other games where every skill uses a common resource called ‘Mana’, in Diablo 3 each class has its own resource system.
Barbarians use Fury, Demon Hunters use Hatred and Discipline, Monks use Spirit, Witch Doctors use Mana and Wizard uses Arcane Power.

Certain abilities consume resources while others help regenerate. The time it takes to regenerate also varies depending upon class. Your resource pools determine how efficiently and quickly you can use your skills.
Diablo 3 Beginners Skill Rune System Guide

The Skill Rune feature was initially called as Rune Stone feature were you get Rune Stones as monster drops. However this was revised during beta and renamed to Skill Rune system. The Runes are no longer monster drops and they are now unlocked as you level up. These Skill runes typically make skills more powerful and few of them even alter the skills completely.
Each skill has max of five Skill Runes that you unlock as you level towards cap. You unlock all the base skills by level 60. However, all the skill runes are unlocked at level 60.
Careful selection of runes is extremely crucial to build a proper character for each setting, for example PVP or PVM. Check out the builds for each to understand which Skill Rune combos would work best and in what cases.
Diablo 3 Beginners Guide – Followers
Followers is another new feature introduced with Diablo 3. Followers are champions that will fight along side you on your battles and quests. In short they are there to help you and make your life easier.
Followers can be customized in terms of what skills they have, passive benefits they give and how they fight. Each follower has 12 skills out of which you can pick 4 at any given time.
They have two weapon slots, rings, amulets and unique item for each class. As they level up, their skills and appearance improves over time as well.
