In this Diablo 3 leveling guide, I will be focusing on common  tips and tricks that can be used for power leveling any class. If you are looking for class specific guides then you can find those in the later half of this post.

Before we get started you must understand that leveling speed focuses on several aspects and not just one. Like for example, you should get right skills and rotations, figure out the right way to kill, right equips to complement your build and you should be able to use the environment really well. All these combined together will make your character a perfect killing machine.

Diablo 3 Leveling Tip # 1 – Mobs!

Mob in simple words means a bunch of monsters. If you kill a bunch of monsters together at a same time, or a bunch of monsters in a row one after the other you get a lot of bonus exp. This means faster leveling.

There are two ways of getting bonus exp via killing mobs. The first one is to gather or mob several monsters and kill them in one go with just one skill. This gives you an extra one hit kill bonus along with a mob kill bonus. The second and obvious way is to kill a lot of monsters in a very short amount of time. This gives you bonus mob exp (also sometimes referred to as combo exp).

This tip may sound easy but you have to be careful. Mobbing means playing around with a lot of monsters and not killing then one-by-one. You could end up taking a lot of damage and loose exp if you die. Start with smaller mobs and then make larger ones when you get hang of this.

Diablo 3 Leveling Tip # 2 – Use AOE skills wisely

This tip is the most important one. Skills need resource such as mana, fury, rage, etc. Using them wisely without wasting them is the key to power leveling.

You can use area skills to kill mobs or several monsters at once. However, they typically require a lot of resource or they have high cool down timer. Thus it’s important to cast it at the right place in the very first time you cast it.

If the area skill damages all around you then move to the center of the mob carefully, avoiding as much damage intake as possible, and then cast the skill. If the area skills damages enemies in one direction then position or align yourself properly before casting the skills. NEVER use area skills on one single enemy, unless it’s a boss or mini-boss.

Diablo 3 Leveling Tip # 3 – Dont be greedy

You will see a lot of gold being dropped all over the place. You will also see a lot of boxes, barrels, etc that can be broken or investigated to reveal items. Even though these have rare chances of getting you good items, they can be a waste of time.

Try to break the boxes and barrels that are on the way but don’t go running and trying to break each and every one of them. You end up saving a lot of time if you just focus on what’s on your way rather than going for each and everything on the map.

Diablo 3 Leveling Tip # 4 – Use Shrines

Through the maps and quests you will find a lot of shrines. These shrines give really good exp or attack boost which really help with power leveling your character. Keep an eye on these as they are sometimes located in areas where you’d usually not check.

Diablo 3 Leveling Tip # 5 – More Bonus EXP

Another tip for getting more bonus EXP is using the map elements. There are several bonuses that you can get for using map traps and elements that kill your enemies. Keep an eye on these and make use of such objects to get additional bonus exp.

Diablo 3 Leveling Tip # 6 – Exp Pots

This is a term that I’ve myself coined. You will find a lot of mini quests that spawn tons and tons of monsters. One of the examples is the famous Jar of Souls. Such quests give you a lot of exp. The very first time itself, try to make best of such quests and kill as many monsters as you can. Some monsters spawn minions. Kill the parent monster last and allow it to spawn more and more minions. Overall this can potentially give you a lot of exp from kill streaks, one hit kills, combos, etc.
