Meet the Wizard
Both male and female Wizards seem to have Asian-like features, which differentiates them from the other class in the game. But aside from its cool looks, the Wizard’s abilities are severely deadly, thus it should not be underestimated. Read more of this Diablo 3 Wizard guide and find out more things about this exciting character.
Diablo 3 Wizard Gameplay Guide
As a pure spell caster, the Wizard harnesses its abilities and skills from arcane energy and elemental magic. They use their bodies as vessels of these various energies, giving them abilities to harness and manipulate all manners of forces to burn, dismember and freeze their foes right on their feet. Wizards can also control time and light for teleport, deflect enemy attacks and make powerful illusions to confuse enemies and help them in combat.
Diablo 3 Wizard Resource System
The Wizard’s resource system is called the Arcane Power. This is used to cast magic spells and works like Mana in Diablo 2, where players cast their spells at the cost of their resource. Unlike in Witch Doctor’s Mana, Wizard’s Arcane does not increase in amount, but it regenerates fast, giving these class better chances in casting more offensive spells. Arcane Power stays in 100, though there are lots of passive skills that can improve the regeneration further.
Diablo 3 Wizard Skills
There are 25 skills in total for the Wizard in Diablo 3, and they are divided into 3 categories: Signature, Offensive, and Utility Skills. Signature skills are more of cheaper attacks which cost one less Arcane Power every time you level up. They include Electrocute, Magic Missile, etc. Offensive spells on the other hand, are highly damaging skills which can wipe out all enemy units in one single blast, but they cost more Arcane Power. Example of which is Disintegrate. Utility skills are more of defensive skills, they don’t deal that much damage and consume much Arcane Power, but they certainly can help keep the Wizard alive by deflecting damages and confuse enemies. It includes Mirror Image and Diamond Skin.
Diablo 3 Wizard Strengths and Weaknesses
Strengths: Casts powerful and highly damaging spells from a distance and carries heavy artillery of magic, especially in mid to higher levels.
Weaknesses: Suited on long-range combat and very vulnerable and fragile in close combat. Wizard users also have to move around from one place to another when in combat, to avoid unnecessary direct confrontment from enemies.
Diablo 3 Wizard Equipment
Though most material items can work as a channel for the Wizard’s massive power, some equipment just have specific functions for this class. Wizards carry orbs on their off-hand (which is not really a weapon for other class in the game) to help improve its abilities, from vision and spellcasting, or even serves as a vessel for its powers. Wizards can also wear some traditional equipment, such as armor plating, etc, but its most common weapon is the wand, a thin stick they use to direct massive arcane powers at their target enemies.
All in all, this Diablo 3 Wizard guide says this class is pretty competitive class for both PVE (player-versus-environment) and PVP (player-versus-player) arena, as they can cast highly damaging spells with their fast regenerating resource system. Also, both of its offensive and passive skills seem like good improvement from the Sorceress from Diablo 2. Just remember to always keep safe distance from enemies before casting your spells.
Liking your clear and descriptive word play of your guide.
¤ I will definitely stay awhile and listen.
Can’t wait for the actual game to release, your guides help a load and since I won’t be able to start playing until June I’m going to stay tuned to this.
Starting off with a sorcerer on Inferno mode, then gonna try the nightmare one (or whatever its called, one life) and try to earn a ton of rares, just a question though which isn’t answered in any of your guides
1) If I die on the character, can I send its items to my other characters?
2) Is it possible to xfer items between characters like in WoW’s mailbox? Or can it only be done through AH?
The one life mode is called Hardcore hero mode. You can’t transfer items if you die on that mode and you loose everything including your chance to play that hero ever again.
It is possible to transfer items between your chars in Diablo 3. You can do it using your Shared stash.
