Difficulty in Nightmare, Hell and Inferno modes in Diablo 3

Blizzard just released a video preview of what the difficulty is going to be like at higher levels. Last year we learned about the difficulty levels in Diablo 3, including the new mode Inferno where all the monsters are above level 60. Now finally we have a video preview to get a sneak peek of what’s the end-game going to be like in the latest installment of Diablo series.

So far we’ve only gotten a chance to play the beta in normal mode which didn’t seem challenging at all. But from the video and the way developers describe these difficulty levels it seems that the game is going to be absolutely worth the wait.

To sum it up what’s known so far – there are four modes or difficulty levels in Diablo 3: Normal, Nightmare, Hell and Inferno. The game starts getting bad ass from the Nightmare level. Hell and Inferno are expected to be extremely challenging.

It’s clear from the video that soloing is probably only going to work in Normal and may be Nightmare mode. For Hell and Inferno, we’re definitely going to need parties of more than two.

Hell and Inferno are just not going to be basic game play but a lot more than that. High level equips and defensive gears, gold, magic find, enchants are also going to make a big difference. Other than that perfecting a build and figuring out the right balance between gold, power and magic find skills is going to be another challenge.

Just playing in groups won’t get you through Hell and Inferno. You will be needing solid coordination and strategies to take out those tough bosses in these modes. Just rushing into a boss like you do in Normal is not going to be the case all the way. Forget bosses, you’ll get your ass kicked even at those surprise random encounters.

It looks like there’s a lot more in store for us than what we expect. If only we could get to play a bit of Inferno as a part of beta.

Did this look challenging enough to you? What do you think? Tell us about your thoughts about the might Hell and Inferno modes.
